thank you for your reply and your very good explanation of what IMAP is.
I use an IMAP server just to be able to work with new emails when I'm not at home.
But at night, when I'm back home, I usually move all messages from the IMAP server to my local inbox.
(similar to working with POP3)
The AV product I used before, scanned all incoming emails regardless of whether they came via POP3 or from an IMAP server.

Can you let us know the name of your previous Antivirus which supported IMAP? Is it a Business/Corporate version which runs as like on a server?
