Please create -pre-check for NSS, it should first check existing security software. Detection should not be heavy task, run small query about existing installations.
I don't even remember anymore how many times I have had to go and help some relatives or friends to clean that, good that it seems to go away with "add-remove" programs. ("dear, what in the earth is this new icon on my desktop? what is this weird message when I download something..?.")
Because of my work I use also Symantec products and in general level, Norton/Symantec have plenty of good tools but IMHO, it is not good marketing to push NSS so aggressive.
