I’m a satisfied owner user of Norton 360 Version 4.0 and have been using Norton 360 since of version 3.0.
Concerning that I’m a former computer technician as well as a strong home user that works with my New High Performance Computer every day and sets the security as priority number one.
I have been giving constructive feedback to Symantec regarding Norton 360 several times but not even so much as a THANK YOU!
Now I feel bound to give you some feedback since I have discovered some things that are (in my eyes) for the advantage as well as important.
When I save login information’s in N360 and want to login to someone by clicking on the icon with the locker on in my web browser (Mozilla Firefox ver. 3.6.13), I don’t see my entire saved login’s in there. But if I right click on “Norton” and choose “Handle Logins” then I see them all.
Norton 360 V 4.0 doesn’t react every time by fill in the data when I come to a login web page.
I recommend you to implicate the opportunity to temporary disable the N360’s background activity by right click on the N360’s icon down at the taskbar and then click on suggested “Disable background activity”. The reason for that is if I choose to start a job in the computer that needs all the CPU resources, then it’s easy to deactivate the background activity in that way.
In Norton 360/Settings/Protections against junk mail/addresses and configurations of “Address book exceptions”, List over allowed “, List over blocked” you don’t have the opportunity to import a whole address book, and that is a big disadvantage.
In Norton 360/Settings/Protections against junk mail/Client of integrations and E-mail clients Mozilla Thunderbird is not integrated.
Well… that’s it for this time, but assure you that I have some more as I forgot about at the time (my computer have more and better memory then me nowadays).

[ ... ] I didn't know that a new version had come out, I thought it would be automatically via N360 update.
It's going to be interesting to see the new version of Norton 360 as I installed yesterday.

You would in due course have received a popup telling you that the Upgrade was available for you free of charge but major upgrades -- like 4 to 5 -- do not come down in LiveUpdate but via the Update Center which handles major update/upgrades.
There is also a Check for New Version link under Support, IIRC
I hope the new clean install solves the problems you were encountering. Please let us know how you get on.
I am not sure where to post my Feedback about the Norton Identity Safe I will post on on this and you can move it to the right place...
Feedback about Norton Identity Safe and using the Fill Assistant. When you Copy something from the Fill Assistant and paste it into the browser you should be able to just click the box you need to fill in. Instead of right clicking scroll to paste and then left clicking to fill in that box. I think that would be much better and faster and something nice to have added.
A lot of items on here, mention the same thing, buy this, buy that, a lot of these are already included, some of them in the words of some users 'Trashed my Computer', Norton's response apparently, 'Nothing to do with us'. This was trying to restart their computer after running Driver Update, fairly conclusive that it was. Lots of comments of Norton putting charges up, double charging etc. not refunding overcharges, the list goes on. We all want Norton to go back to being a security programme, we don't want all this gimmicks (not so bad if they worked), they will soon be trying to sell us clothes pegs We all have the option turned OFF for all these adverts - option does not work. Norton have lost the plot. Only been on this forum 4 - 6weeks, noticed a definite pattern of postings, different thread names, same subject.
