If you can provide the URL for the login page, that would be helpful. Thanks.
Tony,
It was great and quite promising that you could have had an early opportunity to show your interest on these new developments arising from Symantec's patch for FF4.
Even if a solution still could not be found so far, more than one URL have been produced following your request and several people came out to offer their opinions, attempting to help.
It may look obvious that if you still did not come back it's most likely because you did not have anything new to add. But wouldn't you agree that, after the number of postings already made to this thread, including specific cases with screen shots and everything, you might have found it proper to inform whether these issues are being acknowledged and verified by Symantec and, if so, whether Symantec is already working on them or has a plan to do so?

LinYu2,
I was one of the folks that commented about what I considered a shortcoming of Symantec's handling of the previous thread on the FF4/Norton Tool Bar issue. I criticized Symantec for it's lack of responsiveness and the way it was mishandling (in my opinion) an issue that has so far garnered a thread with 171 posts.
The current thread was initiated at 4/8/2011 @ 02:04PM. Tony's first response was at 4/8/2011 @ 03:41 PM... 1 hour and 37 minutes after this thread was started. This is lightyears better response than the first thread. Symantec has acknowledged the problem and I'd like to think they are working on it.
As a negative critic of Symantec in the previous post, I now feel compelled to support the way they have acknowledged the current glitches. By Tony's asking for specific URL's to problem websites I must assume that he intends for Symantec to plan, and actively work towards, a solution to the remaining issues. Doesn't that seem reasonable? I think it is.
I don't expect Tony to acknowledge every post in this thread but I do believe he will pass the trouble URL's to the techs for resolution. I'm also sure Tony will periodically keep us up-to-date on the status of the current issue.
Prior to FF4/Norton Toolbar update, the Access Number and User ID field would be populated by Norton Identify Safe. I always had to manual enter the Password. I don't know if that was normal Identity Safe operation or a problem. I accepted it as normal and always copy/pasted my Password. I don't have any other sites that require me to enter three fields to log on.
I also have the same Acronis logon issue previously pointed out in this thread.
Though I have not checked all of my logins (threre's too many for me to care to check), the ones I have checked have worked (other than the above).
I'd also like to reiterate that IE9 has now picked up the same issue, with the same websites, after updating the Toolbar for FF4.
Thanks everyone for the URLs. Our team is looking into the ones you've reported. To clarify, we want to address all login issues with the toolbar, but especially the ones that have broken as a result of the FF4 hotfix. So far, I've read about 4 logins on this board. For any future issues, please be sure to include the following:
1) the login page URL
2) A description of the autofill behavior BEFORE applying the hotfix
3 A description of the autofill behavior AFTER applying the hotfix
4) A screenshot of the login page, showing how it is not autofilling properly (if you are concerned about your security being compromised, please email the image to me. My email address is listed on my profile.)
Any other details about the login problem are also very helpful. Thanks again for letting us know about these login issues. Let me know if you have any questions.
Personally, I’ve decided to wait until the major problems have been fixed. Only then will I reinstall Firefox 4, followed by the patch. In the meantime, I will stick with what I, as well as many others, have done, that being reverting back to Firefox 3.6.16.
The Acronis site log in is not working for me in Firefox 3.6, so this is probably related to how the site is set up, rather than something in FF4 breaking.
To Everyone for the most part the norton password manger for me is working fine except for the BOA site which is very similer to my my credit union site which is very similar to the BOA site. The norton password manager is not the only password manager that is having problems with logons if you look at the LAST PASS forum site you will find ouite a few people having problems so it is not just a norton problem. Here is a address for the last pass forum that is posting about BOA problems go to http://forums.lastpass.com/ go to help and support >workarounds for problematic logins for BOA posts go to Page 3 about half way down.good luck.
The last post to that LastPass forum thread is two months old, so the topic seems to be about the usual problems that occur using the BofA site, rather than anything having to do with extension issues in Firefox 4.
In prior posts in this thread I have tried to make it clear that if one looks at the way this company has set up its login procedure, it seems obvious that the PW is NOT supposed to be entered automatically or the whole idea behind their "SiteKey" would be defeated.
Actually, they specifically recommend to NOT enter the PW if the SiteKey is absent or incorrect... So the logical conclusion is, I believe, if the password is entered automatically, something must be wrong!
What am I missing?
P.S. -- I tried to upload a screen shot of the URL ilustrating what I wrote above, but was unable to do it. I seemed to be unable to make the image as a file with a ".txt" extension...
I am still using Firefox 3.6 and the Bank of America site works for me, although I have had occasional issues with the site in the past.
It is fine for Identity Safe to fill in the password on the SiteKey page. Filling in the form is not the same as submitting the information. The password is not transmitted until after you have verified that your SiteKey is correct and you click the button to submit your PW to sign in.
Also, if you are not actually on the BofA site, Identity Safe will not fill the form.
HI everyone If you look at other pass word mangers I have looked at both Last Pass and Robo Form and they both have problems with the BOA login and it been going on for years. I have been a BOA customer for years and if I rember BOA changed the login about 2 years ago thats when the problem started. Also if you look at the last pass forum you will find a large numer of posts that have problems not with just BOA but with other sites as well. So don't give the norton people a Hard time about something for the most of the time works!

SendOfJive,
You're absolutely correct. That... That's what I was missing!!!

Wrong. Today I find that Identity Safe will not fill in the password. SInce I am still on Firefox 3.6 it looks like BofA changed something and that this is not a Firefox 4 compatibility issue.

In spite of what I missed ( ) I knew that it might be happening in my system and not on others' for whatever reason, but the patch and its eventual shortcomings were not part of it. And I was positive about it because I started noticing the issue at about the time they came up with this extra security step they call "SiteKey", maybe two years ago or so.
I'm glad to learn it's not a problem specific to my system.
I have the same issue with some websites mostly Bank websites where the username was not populated. This happens in FF and IE after updating Norton Toolbar with the HotFix.
