Hey everyone. My PC recently got infected by 2 viruses, one that attacks the registry and another that impersonates a windows system program. Norton 360 didn't stop or notice these and I had to remove them manually with reg edit :P, Took 6 hours but it was worth it. ( Restore Didn't work, and I got many restore errors I'm thinking the virus had something to do with it. )
I preserved them and made sure they can't run. Where can I upload these files to norton so they can create a virus defenition for it?
Hey floplot,
I looked at the links but why would I have to put personal info when submitting a file to norton, and for the threat explorer website, is it used by symantec from there if I were to upload it?
Thanks,
-Alex
Also thanks to Yaso if you'll read this :P
Hello Alex
The personal information is most likely asked for since this form is supposed to be used by only users of Norton products. I would assume that by asking these questions, they can make sure you are a user of Norton products.
The link for threatexpert is a site where you can quickly make sure that the file you think is malicious is malicious.
