I appear to be having a problem with this signature. It's part of my job to download new games that may not have been released to the public yet so I can test them with Xfire & this signature keeps deleting those files. I've learned from experience that this only means that Norton does not recognise the file, so I'm not entirely concerned about files that are caught with this signature. I have attempted to exclude the signature, as well as the files before they are written, but the only way I could download the file without it being auto-deleted was to disable Auto-Protection; it's seems that NIP is ignoring my exclusions list. These files aren't even getting quarantined to make it an easy restore, they're just getting flatout deleted when they finish downloading & I have to waste more bandwidth to download them again. I downloaded a 1 GB file 4 times, the last time just disabing Auto-Detection so I could back it up on removal media so I wouldn't have to download it yet again. I'm going to assume this is a bug with version 20.3.1.22 & I would like to see it fixed so it doesn't continue to slow down my work as it is currently doing so.
Hi WonderGamer
I don’t know if it will have any effect but try setting,
remove risks automatically to, ask me.
and remove risks to when I am away to, ignore.
To find these, click the Norton icon, click settings, click computer, click real time protection and look under sonar. Set the switches and click apply, click ok.

Hi WonderGamer,
There are two ways you can get around this issue without disabling Auto-Protect. The easiest way is to simply turn off Download Intelligence when you download these files (remember to re-enable it when you are done). Instructions are here:
My Norton product alerts that the file I downloaded is not safe, and deletes it
The second method you can use is to download the files to a folder that you have created specifically to receive these files. Add that folder, specifying the full path, to Items to Exclude from Auto-Protect, SONAR, and Download Intelligence Detection in the Norton Computer > Antivirus and SONAR Exclusions Settings. Files downloaded to that folder will not be scanned at all.
The first method is recommended because it will eliminate the reputation-based detections from Download Intelligence, while still allowing Auto-Protect and SONAR to watch for any real hints of trouble.
@intesec,
I actually have my settings set to that already. This is another setting that this version of NIS is ignoring (and has been for a long time).
@SendOfJive,
I'll give your second method a try should I run into problems again. I don't particularly want to disable Download Intelligence altogether as it may catch other things that may be a threat. In the case of the second alternative, I'm not entirely sure that will work either as NIS appears to be ignoring my exclusion lists.
