I keep getting a pop up from Norton about usage .  It says my cpu is 96% of at least one CPU and memory has used 2.450 MB  used.   I am a novice and have no idea what this means any help out there PLEASE.

Thank you very much I will give your suggestions a try.  Could any of this make my computer run slower then usual.  I installed Norton 360 to protect my computer I didn't realize I would have to really learn anything about the operation Ha Ha.

You can find some info about the High CPU alert and how you can manage it, in the following threads:

Hello Billmoy

You can try dickevans suggestions to avoid those CPU and Memory alerts. Doing so will not affect your computer Performance.

These Alerts are given to help the user in knowing when there is an increased usage of system resource by any program or process.

Thanks

Kavitha

96% CPU usage sounds like way too much. Can you open the Task Manager and see which process is using that much?

Thanks Dick that was very helpful.

Hi,

You're quite welcome. Always nice to hear that a message has helped another user.

Don't be a stranger, we'll leave a light on:smileywink:

Checked today. Good guys, corrected quickly.
But because of these failures, as shown in the previous post, easily infect your computer.
