I am using version 2.0.97.12 just downloaded and updated off the Norton Zone website.
I use a tool called Password Safe (pwsafe.exe). When a password database is open, the database file is locked. When a change is made in the password list and the file is saved, Norton Zone attempts to sync the file. The sync fails, the website does not receive the updated file, however the local Norton Zone agent changes the systray icon to a green checkmark and places a green checkmark on the password database file.
Once the Password Safe program is closed (and fully exited by right clicking the PWS systray icon and selecting exit) the lock file is removed. At this point, Norton Zone thinks it has successfully updated the file and does not try to sync it again.
To try to force a sync I then selected "Pause Sync" and then "Resume Sync" in the systray. My thought was that this would force a sync and the NZ agent would be able to upload the file.
Imagine my suprise when the newer password database on the local Windows system was overwritten with the older database hosted on the NZ web cloud storage!
This is unacceptable behavoir. I can understand the NZ agent not being able to sync a locked file, but firstly it should not think and act like it successfully uploaded when it did not. Secondly, it should *absolutly* not overwrite the newer file with the older file. EVER.
If there are any suggestions to this dilemia, please advise.
