I'm trying to replace (restore) files that had been backed up from a different computer (now stolen). I have Norton 360 Premiere loaded and active on the replacement computer, and can see the list of backed up files. Because the computers have different names, I've been trying to restore to a new folder on my desktop, which I've called Restored Files. In 20 hours, about 10 attempts, I've been able to restore only 1 (one) file, a very small, ~38 KB, Word document. No other file has been restored, even though I'm only attempting to restore 1 file at a time.
I use Windows 7 on a Toshiba Satellite, and although I can receive large PowerPoint files via e-mail promptly, when I check the data transfer status when the Restore operation is the only Internet communication running, there is almost no data being transfered.
Typically, the system hangs at 0.0% or 0.1% for an hour, and then gives me an error message telling me to retry. My security history shows 6 failures already.
File by file, this is not acceptable. A 15,000 KB file isn't tripping up against the 5 GB limit.
3] Type the command in CMD as " netsh winsock reset " then try to start the restore session once again from the Norton 360
Note:
If its Windows 7 please type in CMD in the search window after you click on Start then right click on CMD then choose the option as " Run as Administrator "
Again another possible work around that you can try there is, if you're using a wireless connection in your computer, hook the computer up with a wired connection through your router.
This can sometimes solve the problem. Please let me know if you have concerns.
