I can't find other computers on the VPN network, when smart firewall is enabled.
When the firewall is enabled I can only see my computers on the local network, if I disable the firewall I can see all the computers that are on the VPN network also.
Anyone knows howto setup the firewall so it will allow me to access computers over VPN?
One of the gurus, dbrisendine, is very good with VPN requirements, but he appears offline at the moment. If you do a search in the search bar just above the post on the right, you find a lot of information regarding VPN rules. Look for his name. A search can also be done using the name of the VPN service.
If that does not help, check back from time to time to see if he is now available.
Can you give all the details of how this VPN is set up? Is it Windows (Microsoft VPN), Nortel, etc. ? Are you in an office with a domain service (you log into the office network not you local machine when you logon / join?)?
It is a Windows (Microsoft VPN) Type PPTP that I'm using. There is no domain to Join.
The Setup:
My Computer with Windows XP and NIS 2009, Connected to the internet via Wireless to my Router.
Normal home network without anything special
Computer connects with Microsoft VPN client to Companys Router
On the company end there is not much either.
I connect directly to the Router.
No domain setup. We are only using workgroups.
