Hi
I have an up-to-date version of NIS 2011 and Filezilla (3.5.0) on a laptop on my home network. They work fine.
On the same network I have a desktop with Win XP SP3 and the same version of NIS and FileZilla. I can't get this PC to connect properly. I suspect it may be something to do with the frewall blocking things (but I may be wrong). I tried turning the NIS Smart Firewall off and attempting to connect... it still fails.
Should this action (i.e. disabling Smart Firewall) allow it to connect if it's going to? I assume so but not 100% sure.
I turned off the broadband modem's firewall, too - still fails (although you'd expect the laptop to fail if this were the problem... wouldn't you?)
Filezilla's network config wizard reckons fault may be the router or a firewall.
At this stage I don't know.
Using DreamWeaver's FTP facility to connect to this same domain works just fine on this desktop machine... so where's the likely problem??????????????
FileZilla´s log follows:
