Firefox 24 has been released.

 

There are no release notes yet, but here are the FF24 beta release notes.

Please be sure to upgrade your Norton product before upgrading Firefox.

I'd already done my Norton Live Updates, before I updated to Firefox 24. It immediately crashed three times. I'm back to V 23.0.1.

That's odd!

 

I've upgraded both my W7 machines to FF24 and haven't had any problems at all.

 

What other extensions have you got installed?

Hi Dave, I have Adblock Plus, Better Privacy, Do Not Track Me, and Wot. All were updated, after I updated Firefox to Version 24. Like most others, I had Norton fully updated before the Firefox update.

Have you tried ALF60's suggestion here?

Yep, tried that. Disabling hardware acceleration makes no difference.....:smileyfrustrated:

FWIW, after having had the multiple crashes, and reverting to Firefox 23, I tried going to www.filehippo.com  and downloading the full version of Firefox 24 and overinstalling, rather than updating through the Firefox Help / About tab, in the browser.

 

Been running Firefox 24  for several hours, and no crashes   :smileysurprised:

Update, per my previous post. Now been running a fresh install of Firefox 24 for two days, and no crashes. :smileyhappy:

Hi Dave, no problem. Fwiw, after I Live Updated Norton and rebooted just for the hell of it, I downloaded the full version of Firefox 24, and with the overinstall it seems that Mozilla and Norton are now playing well together, and no squabbles !....
