Update: after several hours of having Norton's remove plugin-container.exe and being unable to prevent it Norton's Liveupdate downloaded anothe data update for X64 and problem disapeared. Firrefox 3.6.15 is back up and running with out any difficultied. Din not have problems except with X64 computers (Windows 7 X64).
Stolen from NIS board thanks to Roopesh (Symantec)
for info:-
The issues with firefox should now be resolved. This was a back-end change so you do NOT need to run LiveUpdate to get the fix. Thanks to everyone for alerting us to the problem and for being patient as we worked to fix it. There were some changes in the product release methodology followed by firefox for this release that caused Norton to make the detection. We are following up with Mozilla to ensure that such an issue doesn't happen again.
Roopesh.
I had the same problem on the 23rd with norton 360 4.0 insight tagged 20 files in firefox. Called tech support and let them know about the problem. we put the file back from quarantine to repair firefox then upgraded to 5.0 and recheck and the files checked ok.
