Today Firefox 31 dropped my Norton Toolbar, and its Addons tab now flags Norton Toolbar as incompatible with FF31 -- after 5 months of working just fine*. This is nothing new. Firefox seems to drop its recognition of N360's toolbar at least once or twice once a year (for the last 5 yrs). Man, do I hate this endlessly-recurring time-sucking crippling of my browsing! Please see bolded questions ...
Possible Fixes:
- Run Norton Updates several times, and a couple cold reboots. --> No help. (In past this sometimes worked.)
- Uninstall/re-install Norton. --> This worked last time, ... a Norton tech remoted in, and used this brute force fix, but spent 2 hours of my time doing it (many massive Norton updates and tons of reboots).
- Deleting/reinstalling Norton Toolbar in FF. --> Not sure how to do this. If possible, I'm sure Norton ensures customer's personal data is protected from loss during such. But it would be awful if I'm wrong. Anyone tried this? If possible, this seems faster than option 2.
- Other safer/faster fixes, anyone?
Has anyone else had this problem? Please comment. Let's crowd-source some data for patterns, as to why this happens so blinking often.
Thanks ! !

* Happened on same day as I installed completely unrelated software, so maybe related, probably not, but DK for sure. The installs were Cinematographer Pro 4.3 and Control My Nikon. Neither should have interacted with Firefox or Norton in any meaningful way during their installs.
