Firefox 73.0 is the latest stable version of the web browser. The release date of the browser is February 11, 2020

 

all Firefox channels will be updated when a new Firefox Stable version gets released. This means that Firefox Beta and Dev will move to version 74.0, Firefox Nightly to 75.0, and Firefox ESR, the Extended Support Release, to version 68.5. OMG!!!! I don't know how I missed this:

Users with 0patch security software may encounter crashes at startup after updating to Firefox 73. This will be fixed in a future Firefox release. As a workaround, an exclusion for firefox.exe can be added within the 0patch settings.

Yep, one or more of my security programs was the issue.  FF 73.0 up and running fine now.

Shedding most of my security programs could be the answer.  I'll confirm shortly.

Updated and working OK here -- Windows 10 1909 64bit

After update Firefox will not open.

After starting in Safe Mode FF will not open.

After Refresh FF will not open.

After completely uninstalling / reinstalling Firefox will not open.
