Firefox High Memory Use after NIS09 Install?

Hello,

I've recently installed NIS09 after my McAfee subscription expired, hearing that Symantec has taken care of the ridiculous bloat problem Norton has had for quite some time. I must admit, the NIS software itself is surprisingly lightweight, and a welcome improvement from the bloated McAfee install I had before. However, I have begun to notice that Firefox will occasionally become temporarily unresponsive, and I've noticed that it's memory usage is now sitting around 150MB or higher! I do have add-ons installed, but I don't suspect them to be the culprits as I do not recall Firefox taking that much memory before. Norton is the newest change I've made, and I suspect it has something to do with the 2 add-ons Norton added and won't allow me to uninstall. I have disabled them, as I don't wish to have their functionality anyways, but I'm still stuck with the high memory usage.

So, my two questions are these: First, am I the only one noticing this issue with Firefox, and if not, does anyone have some info as to why? Second, How can I get rid of those add-ons when I can't uninstall them from the Firefox Add-Ons panel. Even if they weren't possibly jacking memory usage I wouldn't use them anyways, so I'd like them to go.

The new software is impressive compared to Norton's track record, even other products. However, if it's going to cause Firefox to eat that much memory, it ends up being worse then McAfee.
