You are right here.
What version of Firefox do you run? If it isn't the latest, please upgrade to the latest version . Current is 3.0.1
Otherwise , Do you see Norton when you click in the Firefox toolbar extra --> add ons
there have been issues with ff3 and nis2008, but as you have 2009 it may be something different that is causing your problem.
if you have not seen the thread here is the link..
Identity Safe Support and Firefox 3?
but also, read this thread as doing the update to fix the problem on the first thread causes another, which as yet has no fix :(
Identity Safe Auto Fill Options
as i said, these were referring to issues in nis2008 so im unsure if its applicable to what your experiencing.... apologies if it is not
I dont see the bar and i dont have no fuctionality as saved the password in the sites using firefox and I have the latest updates and I am using norton internet security 2009. if u can provide step by step on how i check on firefox tool bar extra thing i dont see that. by the way i have the latest firefox browser.
I know youâve probably already done this; but just in case: Have you tried a complete shutdown then reboot. I have found that to fix the problem with Firefox for me, twice.
yeayea i do that everytime and nothing happens⌠I am going to try to reinstall firefox to see if that fixes it. i did that once with internet explorer and it work.
If you are into reinstalls, I've found that most of the time, it's NIS2009 that needs reinstalling and that it should be done last.
If it were me, I'd uninstall both products, then reinstall Firefox, latest version; then reinstall NIS2009.
i uninstall firefox, and norton internet security 2009 and reinstalled them both nothing happen still have the same problem firefox 3.0.1 wont show the norton identity safe toolbar at all.
Hi,
Can you open Mozilla firefox> Tools > Add ons> Extensions > And tell me the Norton Add ons listed there, if any ?
It may show Norton IPS 1.0 and Norton Toolbar 3.0
yea it shows norton toolbar 3.0 but it dosent work for some stupid reason. i appreciate all the help.
I really think it needs to show both (Norton IPS 1.0 and Norton Toolbar 3.0).
You can try the following and see if it works for you:
Start>Prgrams>mozilla Firefox>firefox in safe mode
then close firefox.
reboot (may not be necessary)
start firefox normally.
I have seen where the addons get out of whack and this fixed it for me. This is in XpSP3. I have no idea on Vista.
Make sure that the toolbar it not hidden. You can ensure that the toolbar is not hidden by following these steps:
1. Launch Firefox
2. Go to âView->Toolbarsâ, make sure that the âNorton Toolbarâ menu item is checked
Also make sure that our extension is registered. You can verify that our extension is registered by going to <Mozilla install dir>\extensions (most likely âc:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\extensionsâ). Do you see a file that has the following name â{7BA52691-1876-45ce-9EE6-54BCB3B04BBC}â? If not then try and reboot the PC.
If that does not resolve the problem then please try the following
1. Close all instances of Firefox
2. Open explore and go to ââ%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile_id>\â
3. Delete âextensions.cacheâ which is locate in the profile folder, - it will get auto generated by Firefox.
4. Restart firefox
If everything fails, then try and uninstall / reinstall firefox
Let me know how it goes.

I followed up to were you talk about " 2. Open explore and go to ââ%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles<profile_id>\â but I need you to be a little more specific as i dont know how to find that directory.

Hi conker-
- Click start->run, then type '%appdata%' and hit enter. It should open an Explorer window with your application data directory.
- Then browse the Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles folder.
- Once you are in the Profiles folder, you will see one or more more folders with special naming convention Firefox uses. Try to find the one that contains your username.
- Once you are in that folder, you should be able to find a file named "extensions.cache"

I did what you told me i was able to delete the cache file but nothing happen. I still cant see the toolbar or use it.
For my Cousins PC I uninstalled NIS with the removal tool. Uninstalled Firefox using Revo Uninstaller in Advanced Mode. Rebooted. Cleaned out any left files and folders. There are alot for Firefox. Rebooted again. Installed Firefiox. Installed NIS. Look here to completely remove Firefox.
