Hi
I use FireFox as my main browser and I just had a thought how do I know if my browser is the latest version? I have in the options that it installs my updates automatically so I’m guessing I always have the most up to date version but if it ‘has’ been updating I haven’t actually noticed much changes! So my question is! Is there a way to check the version?
Thanks a lot guys!

Hi Imacri
Thanks a lot! I will check this out!
And would you say that if I have automatic updates checked in the options that it should be fine left on it’s own anyway?
Thanks a lot!
Click on Firefox in top left and select Help then About Firefox and then Check for Updates.

Hi AudiA1:
If your Firefox browser is installed correctly and automatic updates are enabled (Tools | Options | Advanced | Update | Firefox Updates | Automatically Install Updates), updates should be installed as soon as they are released to the general public. The web page at http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ will also warn you if your Firefox browser is out of date if you think you have a problem with your automatic Firefox updates.
Norton typically releases an update for the Norton Toolbar extension for Firefox browser via LiveUpdate just prior to the release of each new version of Firefox. Please be aware that there have been several reports in this forum where the Norton Toolbar extension disappeared from their browser if Firefox was updated before LiveUpdate delivered the compatible toolbar.
For this reason, I have automatic updating disabled in Firefox (Tools | Options | Advanced | Update | Firefox Updates | Never Check for Updates). Each time FileHippo Update Checker informs me that an update is available for Firefox, I go to the Product Announcements blog in the Norton forum and check the latest product announcement for Firefox to ensure that LiveUpdate has already delivered a toolbar that is compatible with the latest version of Firefox. For example, I use NIS v. 20.4.0.40 and the latest Firefox 28. 0 announcement here shows that I should have Norton Toolbar v. 2013.4.8.1 - check your own toolbar version at Tools | Add-ons | Extensions in your Firefox browser. Once I have confirmed that LiveUpdate has delivered the correct toolbar, I go ahead and manually update my Firefox browser (Help | About Firefox | Check for Updates).

HP Pavilion dv6835ca, Intel Core2Duo CPU T5550 @ 1.83 GHz, 3.0 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS
Can I point out that if you use the Norton toolbar and Firefox be sure you have received the patch from Norton BEFORE you update Firefox.
Also if you use Firefox;
I suggest you change Firefox to the following setting.
Hi Guys
I haven’t had a problem with the tool bar in Firefox at the moment but I have in different browsers! Krusty when I next boot up my computer I will change my settings to that to make sure I don’t lose my tool bar randomly! And Imacri I don’t think I have a problem with FireFox updates that I know of it’s just if it has updated it doesn’t look like it’s changed much but I guessing they’re more then likely security updates and all the behind the scenes stuff!
Thanks a lot guys

Hi AudiA1:
Release notes for new versions of Firefox are available at http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/notes/. Click the security fixes link on that page to see a full list of security patches for each version.

Hi Guys
Thanks for all the information I checked for a update through Phonemans post and I got a notification from Norton for the install so all is good! Thanks a lot I’ll probably check for updates every month using that way.
Thanks a lot
