I didn't install Firefox4 immediately it was released as I had decided to leave it a week or two for any of my favourite "add ons" and "plug ins" to be deployed !
I found out this week that anyone who uses Roboform as their password manager and also accessed their "Logins and Passcards" from the Roboform Toolbar will now be sadly disappointed !
The Roboform toolbar still presents itself in Firefox4 ...but a mouse click will only open a link to the download link for the new "Roboform V.7 " If you install Version 7...you will get the full toolbar display and a new GUI for the program ......very nice etc;...but sadly.....if you have paid for the full version of Roboform V.6 ......your code only applies to V.6 and your new download is no longer fully functional !
I politely approached Roboform support and was advised my "Lifetime" license only applies to V.6 of the program...if you want the full toolbar in Firefox4...you have to pay for an upgrade to V.7 .
It seems quite a few Roboform users are giving the developers some severe "stick " regarding the issue !
To any afficianados of Roboform who have found it an excellent PW manager....you can still access your data if you make do with the access "icon" which is still there on the lower taskbar !
I've found Roboform has served me very well for many years...but I might just give LastPass manager a bit of disk space.....I've heard it's pretty good...can anyone verify that ? I have also heard that the free version does everything that Roboform does...might just give it a whirl
