Firewall Automatic Program Control and DLNA Error

I have a couple issues - Windows 7 Home Premium, Norton Jan 6 IS update 1- Program control - I prefer to see which programs are accessing the internet and then apply appropriate control. The 2011 update has limited in many cases the program control to “Block this instance, or Allow Always”, rather than the full menu of options that would allow me to Block always, allow always, etc. It would be desirable to have the full range of options available when I apply program controls. Of note, when I updated none of my program controls were saved and transferred to the updated 2011. Why has the full menu of controls been changed and can it be adjusted to allow the full range of choices. 2- DLNA errors - I am trying to work with Norton to media stream from my PC to my PS3. I’ve followed every guide I can find and am confident my settings are correct. I cannot get my PC to show on the PS3 menu unless I shut down the Norton Firewall. WMPnetwk.exe is allowed in program controls. I’ve allowed several .exe in ehome, per a Norton post I found on the internet. If anyone can help with fixing this issue with streaming through my PC to PS3 I would appreciate the help.

Thanks sendofjive. The reason I asked about program control is because the ability was there in the last version of Norton, but changed in this version with the limits I mentioned. Sometimes the full menu is there, sometimes its Block always or allow this time.

I'm using Windows 7 (64) Pro, with Norton AV 2011 (18.5.0.125) trying to stream music to my DLNA certified Sony TV.  If I un-install the Norton, the TV finds the Windows Media Player 12 and streams the music.  But if Norton is installed the TV can't find it.  In Network Security Map,  I setup the TV as a trusted device.  Still no luck.  Any ideas or work arounds?

Hi doggyofone,

The following post by dbrisendine gives a good explanation of current meanings and actions associated with the various firewall security alert options:
