Do the firewall program control rules work across all user accounts on a computer (administrator and standard user in Vista)? The reason I ask is I have an administrator account and a standard user account on my computer. There are certain programs that are only run under the standard user account. When I look at the History in NIS 2009 in the standard user account I see that these programs requested access to the internet. Since I have the firewall set to automatically make rules, I'm assuming a program control entry should have been added to the firewall program control list (though I can't confirm under the standard user account because firewall settings can't be accessed from there). However, when I then go to the administrator account, I don't see program control rules listed for the programs that were run under the standard user account.
So that is why I ask .... where are the program control rules that are created for programs run under a standard user account? Are firewall program control lists specific to each user account? If so, how do you control program control settings in a standard user account if you can't get into the settings for not being an administrator?
