Firewall program control

Hi folks,

This is probably a silly question about Norton Internet Security 2012, but here goes:

What is the difference between blocking an item in the firewall program control and removing it ?

If I want to get rid of an item on the list (I want it gone and I want to stop its inbound and outbound access) should I block it, remove it, or block it first and then remove it ?.

The point is that the word "remove" is kind of vague, does it mean "delete"' or "hide" or what ?.

Thank you in advance :smileyhappy:

What if I uninstalled the program, then put a block on Inbound and outbound ?. Is it then best to remove the entry or leave there "blocked" just in case ?

if you uninstall the program and it's still on the list, its entry there is obsolete.

remove it.

if you decide later to reinstall the same application you'll be prompted again to allow or block internet access, and it will be put back on the list with the rule you have chosen.
