I can do the Live UpDate but when click Fix button Norton starts to scan, but freezes. For 3 days now my Windows 8.1 desktop has shown a Fix in Progress on Norton. What can I do besides uninstall and reinstall?! This happens more times than it should. Should not have to deal with this for what seems like every 2 - 3 months. I get the once in a while glitch, but this isn't right.
Thanks for letting us know.
I accept the solution.
Finally, after several restarts, I no longer have this issue. The "fix" status has gone away. Thanks to the community and the visitor who offered up their solution. I hope others are able to resolve their issue.
Yup, sure did. Several times and this keeps happening the firewall and stuff is still being controlled by norton as well. I even did the necessary windows updates with a reset thinking that may resolve the issue but same result
Even though you are on Windows 7, did you try restarting your computer to help Norton complete whatever it is trying to do?
Same here, its been ongoing for a few days and there is a fear of not being fully protected. there are two boxes that load and they will sit here for hours and hours with no progress made at all. I am using Windows 7 Professional. No other issues with the computer or its performance but this!
The fix in progress is for some issue Norton found in your Norton Security product. Maybe a need to run LiveUpdate, or perform a scan.
Restarting your computer should reset this indication. Be sure you are restarting and not just shutting down and starting up again. If you use Windows 8/8.1 or 10, there can be an issue with the Fast Start feature.. See more information here.

Just did a Restart on the computer again after reading your suggestion, and Norton appears to be fixed for now. No Fix in Progress on the Performance or Security. Live UpDate done and a scan in progress right now. Thanks! Appreciate your reply and suggestions.
Running Norton Security Premium, not sure which version, but I always check for Live Updates weekly and then do them and the run a scan immediately. I've done a restart on the computer a couple times already last night and no luck. Performance and Security still shows Fix in Progress. I will take a look at the Fast Start and see if I can solve the issue there.
Thank you for the suggestion!
Hello
What happens if you restart your computer? Please disable Fast Startup in Power Options in your computer. What Norton product and version are you running?
Have a Good Night and
Thanks.
