Fix now and scan buttons not working?

I have a Windows 8.1 computer and every since I bought it back in February (when it previously was on Windows 8 before the update), I have never been able to directly fix my computer though the Norton Internet Security program on the desktop. Whenever I click fix now, when it appears, I get ‘Fix not complete’ and doesn’t work. The only way I have been able to get it to work in the past, is by downloading Norton Remove and Repair, removing my Norton and then it re-installing. But I have to do this every time I get this problem, and it is getting really annoying and takes a very long time to install itself, as there is always a new version whenever I have this problem, and then takes even longer to uninstall and re-install my Norton. Also another problem I have is that on the NIS program, it is very rare if the quick scan and full scan buttons work when I want to scan my computer. I managed to find a forum a while ago with a search code I can enter into my computer and it will run a full system scan for me, but whenever I want to do a quick scan, it is very rare that the button works. I click it, and nothing happens. Does anyone have any idea on what I can do for both issues? I’m running the 21.1.0.18 version of Norton.

Hi biskh

What is the name of the manufacturer of the computer and the model number?

Conflict in security software can be the cause of various issues even if the security software has been uninstalled the debris left on the system may not have caused problems until a Norton update has been installed.

Have you or have you ever had any other security software including any trial security software on the computer including Norton?  If so, what is it?

Can you check in windows add/remove programmes, programme data and programme files for any security software that may have been bundled in a download?

What trial security software came with the computer?

The Norton Removal and Reinstall tool still leaves some files and settings behind that could be corrupted and cause your problem.

A more thorough uninstall can be achieved with the Norton Removal Tool.
