I got a notice that I needed to run a scan for viruses and spyware. When I try to run a scan, I get a "fix now" box pop up. I try to click on it but it says fix not complete. Can someone help me figure out what to do? I ran a full scan 6 days ago, everything was fine with the exception of tracking cookies. No big deal there. Thank you!
Hi Loris
Are you up to date with updates, you might like to try running the scan in safe mode (see help and support from the start menu) as it can have a better effect with some software. Norton appears to be disabled in safe mode only allowing a full scan so disconnect from the internet just in case.
The cookies can be deleted manually (see help and support from the start menu).
Norton may need to be uninstalled and then reinstalled, this is where the confusion arises, I have read so much conflicting information about how to do the uninstall, but one thing does make sense to download the correct Norton removal tool for the version of Norton you have. When I get a new subscription disc I just put it in and follow the instructions. I don’t know if Norton will uninstall from the disc that has already been installed.
Wait a while though to see if any one posts with another suggestion instead of reinstalling Norton.

Hi loris,
Please verify your system date and time are correct.
Please tell us your operating system, and which edition of N 360 you are using - Standard or Premiere and which version. The version can be found by selecting Support from the main page of N 360 and then About. Tell us the entire version number it shows.
Please also go to Support again and select Get Support (it shold update and run a scan and wither fix anything it finds wrong or report it as OK or give directions to go somewhere else. Does this react the same as your Fix Now box?
Have you attempted to run a manual Full Scan or Quick Scan? From Main page of N 360 > select Security > Run Scnas > select a scan from the Computer Scan section and let us know what happens. Does the same happen for both Quick and Full Scan?
Sorry for all the questions, but the more we know about your situation, the better we will be able to guide you to getting it solved, especially for us to figure which type of uninstall/reinstall will meet your needs - if that is even needed.
Hi Loris
I forgot to mention, that if you use the identity safe you need to back up or export your identity safe data, before you do reinstall Norton.

I'm using Windows 8. I have the Norton Standard edition. It was installed on my laptop when I got it in December. I renewed the subscription online for a year. I don't see where it shows the numbers you talked about. My date and time, as far as I know, are correct. I'm in EST. Trying to give you as much info as I can, but I'm still trying to figure things out on my laptop. I can not run a quick scan, a facebook wall scan or anything. It just shows "fix not complete". When the Autofix window pops up, it says it can't find any issues with Norton Internet Security. I also have automatic updates, the last one was just a few minutes ago.
I'm having the same problem, also on Windows 8, but using Norton Security Suite downloaded from Comcast.
Hi loris,
I asked if you had the Standard or the Premiere edition of N 360 - you replied Standard and then in the last sentence stated Autofix could not find any problems in Norton Internet Security. Please tell us which Norton product you have installed.
