When the system tray Ghost status/error box would rise giving feedback on a prompted action, I would get a DOS error box saying
"gearaspi.dll is not a valid windows image with VProTray.exe
I tried updating the gearsoftware drivers, which didn't help. Next I was looking at the
C:\WINDOWS\system32\GEARAspi.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\GEARAspiWDM.sys
files and saw a few different versions of these two files existed in these backup driver storeage folder locations.
C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRVSTORE\GEARAspiWD_4F4AA3475F1B13A1E8212B6D40B351211BC358CE\x86
C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRVSTORE\gearaspiwd_833787DF8E78CF2B2E0923A8B7E3D150E26AD60D\x86
C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRVSTORE\gearaspiwd_D213663B6381F01E45A131159A9DEFE018321CB3\x86
C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRVSTORE\GEARAspiWD_F475AF659D36685632E9BD97B57E9D9661FF3FFD\x86
First I backed up the original files, and then chose the most recent file date which turned out to be the files in the 3rd location, and copied those versions into the C:\WINDOWS\system32\ & C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\ locations. That fixed the error box coming up. I have no idea what all these files do, or why this error occurs, but that's a fix that worked for me.
