I gotta let you in on something. I never expected this to work. However, I tried it, and Norton asked me to change the default phishing filter on launch! There I was, Firefox, with a fully functional Norton toolbar. When I closed it using the "X", all Firefox processes just disappeared from Task Manager!

If you need help importing bookmarks and settings, ask me.

Also, this is Firefox Portable, a fully functional version of Firefox that only installs LOCALLY, without being dependent on the registary and will not leave files behind. Every bit of Firefox in contained within the FirefoxPortable folder. If you wish, you can place the FirefoxPortable folder into the Shared Folder so All users can access FirefoxPortable. Otherwise, other users will need access to your files in order to experience Firefox without it hanging in memory!!!!

 :)

Also, copying the .dll will retain all your identity safe information.

Will using the Norton Toolbar with FirefoxPortable on other computers, like off a flash drive be illegal?

The components folder is in App/Firefox

Somebody please reply quickly and spread the word that there is a solution!

I installed the portable firefox but cannot find the components file and do not know how to copy into it. I don’t think I have Norton 360 because I don’tknow what that is. I have Norton internet security 2008

What I want is for Norton to plug in my identity and passwords...

A) Norton 360 version 2.5 has been released and it prevents Firefox from hanging in memory. Run LiveUpdate to obtain v2.5

start>run>luall

B) The Components folder is in App\Firefox

:)

Great I have more issues with Norton than I realized before coming to this forum! :)

I have the latest version of 360 2.5.0.5. I thought that the process of having firefox sitting in the task manager was a result of Mozilla Firefox being able to retain the tabs that were closed with the web browser. However after reading this thread I have to assume this is not a normal ocurance. Unfotunately I still have this problem even with the latest version of Firefox and 360.

How may I ask does the portable Firefox differ from MozillaFirefoxand.ran.out.of.room.crap.wont.let.me.put.any.more.spaces.

What I was trying to ask is how does portable firefox differ from mozilla firefox and does it retain the memory of closed tabs in the browser when you open it back up?

Thank you much.
