Flamer E-Mail Notice From Norton

I received a security alert e-mail this morning from Norton with information about the Flamer threat.  Since I don't remember getting similar e-mails from Symantec before, I opened it in Notepad on my desktop.  It came from norton (at) nortonfromsymantec.com.  Did anyone else get this, and is it legitimate?

Oops- Thanks!  I did a forum search for 'Flamer' so I missed that post.

You're welcome!

I received this email as well. The blog post linked in this thread doesn't answer at least my question which is the legitimacy of the email. The hallmark sign of phishing email is the generic salutation --> "Dear User, Dear Customer etc." or in this case no salutation at all. Also the flaky looking URL for all the links in the email. I have the headers to forward to a Norton rep if there is a way to do so.

I guess I've been lucky

I received the flamer email AND one for the Norton ONE product :smileyvery-happy:

I think both are Norton's advertising agency earning their fee
