Last night I ran a manual live update and my product downloaded a new patch to my PC. As is usual I ran live update again and was asked to 'restart now or apply later after restart'. As always, I chose to restart later. Here is the problem. After doing this 4 -5 times I kept getting same result stating I need to restart to apply patch? Left things be and decided to look again this afternoon and the same problem occurs. I have now decided to leave things be until another patch is issued, the product appears to be functioning correctly, and yes I have fast restart disabled in Windows.

Hi All.
If you want to UPDATE without all the 'BUGGY' hassle.
Navigate to 'Background Tasks'.
UI, Settings, Administrative Settings, Background Tasks (Configure)
'Automatic LiveUpdate' should see you through.
Yeah this old problem happens occasionally, I posted for 'information only' as it's not having an impact on my Norton Security, all seems to work well so far. I'm just leaving it now till another patch is issued to fix this flaw.
Just make sure you don't keep pressing the 'Live update' tab or it will start to annoy you! LOL
Hi brummie - I am also having a problem with that version on two of my PC's. I click on the restart icon and everything looks like it works normally, until I run another scan and then it tells me again to restart to install patch. Looks like it isn't a problem with my system but Norton has something going wrong. Glad to hear someone else is having a problem with good old Nortons
You did not state whether or not you have restarted your system. If not, the patch has not been fully installed, and you will see the same message until your do restart.
