My McAfee subscription ran out, so I picked up a copy of NIS 2010 in-store. Why not, I’ve used Norton products in the past and had no problems. Unfortunately, this time I do: it seems to mess with FSX…:( Now, I’ve had FSX running with no problems over the last couple of weeks, then the next time I go to run it after installing NIS, it hangs on load with the message “Loading complete! 100%” and maxing out the CPU in the high nineties. VV frustrating ! Does anyone have any thoughts ?

However do not use the Norton Removal Tool to remove NIS if you have any other Norton products installed that you want to keep – it cleans out everything with no user choices. GHOST or Save & Restore for example …
Hi njf63 -
Yes, this is true. Here is some additional information stated on the NRT page:
"The Norton Removal Tool uninstalls all Norton 2010/2009/2008/2007/2006/2005/2004/2003 products and Norton 360 from your computer. Before you continue, make sure that you have the installation CDs or downloaded installation files for any Norton products that you want to reinstall. If you have pcAnywhere or WinFAX, uninstall it using Add or Remove Programs before running the Norton Removal Tool. Also, if you use ACT! or WinFAX, back up those databases and uninstall those products."
If you do not have any of these (except for NIS 2010, duh!) then you are good to go.
