FOIEnum.exe; MCUI32.exe, SysFader application

These programs used up 100% CPU.

SysFader showed up as an application in my Windows Task Manager. It showed up very quickly and disappeared.

I searched it on Norton and Microsoft websites with no results. FOIEnum.exe did show results but there are no answers to what this executable file does and hogs resources on my computer.

Thanks so much.

"FOIEnum.exe" is used by Norton Internet Security for communication purposes

"MCUI32.exe"

Hi! NotPleasedAtAll,

Do you have an nVidia graphics card or chipset on your computer.  SysFader is a component of the nVidia graphics driver and its control panel application for newer nVidia grahphics cards.

The bad guy is SpyFader. SysFader is, as mentioned, legit.

Hi Quads,

I even searched on my computer and looked through the all the Norton and Symantec folders and "FOIEnum.exe" and "MCUI32.exe"  files were not in any of these folders yesterday. I searched through Start>Run>Cmd>find FOIEnum.exe. I ran same search for MCUI32.exe with no results as well. Now they are there. Very strange.

I ran a search for SysFader application and looked through the Programs Files folder with no results as well. I even went through Run>Cmd>find SysFader with no results. Funny enough, SysFader has the same behaviour characteristics as SpyFader that I found when I searched for information on SysFader.

I don't know what kind of graphics card is on this computer. The video card is whatever my computer was installed with this computer at time of shipment.

Thanks so much.

Hi NPAA

If you go to your control panel, hit graphics, hit settings, it should tell you there what video card you have. You might also have onboard video.

Hi floplot,

I went through your steps and there is no Graphics icon to select. I have Windows XP SP3 Home Edition. Where do I find out if I have an onboard video?

Thanks so much.

Hi NotPleased, go to the run box, type in dxdiag and run it. When it opens click on Display, this should give you your graphics card info.

I have an Intel Graphics Card. Thanks Turbo.

Hi! All,

I did some further research and found that nVidia is not the only one who has SysFader.  It appears that all graphics chips use SysFader to render images.  I even found several references that SysFader is also used by browsers to display images and Windows itself uses SysFader to display the desktop and other images.

Several sites state that you must not remove/disable SysFader or will have to reinstall Windows if you do disable it.

Thank you Tech83 for your legwork on this elusive (to me, anywho) application. Your help and information is greatly appreciated. :smileyvery-happy:
