Hello Forum
Will setting my Folder Options - Views to > Enable viewing of hidden files, system files and file extensions...help NIS to be more effective ?
Will > Enable viewing of hidden files, system files and file extensions .... make my System more vulberable ?
Malware Removal Sites instruct users to Enable viewing of hidden files, system files and file extensions because
* Some programs hide themselves by making their files invisible in normal Windows settings.
* Not doing this would allow file extensions commonly used by trojans and spyware to be hidden, for example a file ending in .exe or dll making finding it difficult to impossible.
Does Enable viewing of hidden files, system files and file extensions have any upside / downside benefit for NIS or me ?
Or, is Enable viewing of hidden files, system files and file extensions only when instructed for Specialty Tools used by Malware Removal sites. NIS does not require viewing of hidden files, system files and file extensions to be all that it can be ?
Thanks
