I see somebody solved this problem but I, being a none tech, did not really understand the answer can anybody help me with a blow by blow solution. Thanks for any help given I am running Norton 360 premium ver 20.4.0.40
Thanks Rainbow. I have done as you have said updated etc... I switched on Silent mode. You do not seem to be able to configure it as in NIS you just swith it on for so many hours. I am going to give it a go tonight and see what happens.

Hi Perkymite, it seems you can really configure it in N360 as well.
Here are the links to a couple of KB Articles explaining how silent mode works and how to add a program to user-soecified programs.
About Silent Mode
QUOTE
Quiet Mode | Norton 360 turns on this option automatically when it detects a disk burning task or a Media Center TV recording task. Norton 360 also turns on Quiet Mode automatically when you run a program that you included in the Quiet Mode Programs list. Norton 360 turns off Quiet Mode when the disk burning session or TV program recording session is complete. Norton 360 also turns off Quiet Mode when it stops detecting running instances of the programs that you included in the Quiet Mode Programs list. |

I hope the above will help you to configure as per your need.
Look forward to hearing back from you.
Hi Rainbow. Many thanks for your help. I tried it with just silent mode on and it was inconclusive really. My FPS went from 17 to 64 and back again! Thanks for the info on configuring Quiet Mode which I have now done. I will give it another go tomorrow and let you know if I can give you a a better result..
In the meantime I seem to have hit another problem in that my computer is intermittently "stopping" I use the term stop because that is just what it does, no blue screen etc... . The screen stays up but it is not working even if I hit Crtl +Alt+ Del. I think I might have to try reinstalling Norton - oh dear.
Many thanks for your help I will get back to you.

I’m not so sure that reinstalling your Norton product could solve the issue… please see my post in the other thread you created about this specific problem.
Cheers!
