Hello! If you're visiting this forum its probably because you want to check and see if this popup is legitimate or not.
Because who can turn down a FREE UPGRADE! No one really, unless you're like me and you're worried everything is a virus. Now I do not know if this is a real upgrade or not, but I have myself clicked the upgrade button and it just caused hell throughout my macbook. Personally if this is norton, you guys need a new tactic to tell people something is legit or not. This popup is massive, taking up a mass amount of space on your page and personally that is a really horrible way to say "HEY THIS ISN'T A SCAM!" But i thought for other fellow people i'd take up the offer on it, and which to was very ugly. After updating I thought hey this is a nice look to the update, but really it just caused confusion, after around a week with this 'free update/upgrade" I noticed norton wasn't being active with me, wasn't asking if I wanted to confirm a web connection like spotify, as it had before when I hadn't had this upgrade. Now after this I opened norton which was almost impossible because it was like it had been removed from my laptop, which made me feel extremely unsafe and caused me to fix this issue, finally I got norton open for once and noticed I couldn't scan a thing, it told me i needed to update with LiveUpdate in which I tried but it just said looking for updates for hours on end. Finally I had enough and just uninstalled norton completely and decided to start fresh. Which took more then that, once redownloaded it was the same, wouldn't let me scan, so I opened norton installer and reinstalled norton even though I already had it downloaded, and as I did that I scanned for liveupdates and that caused it to really update, so anyway, if you had clicked the upgrade button you really just have to fiddle around with uninstalling and installing, to get back to norton.
Personally, DO NOT CLICK THIS UPGRADE. I'm still not sure if it's real or not, either way it's a terrible idea! Thank You for reading, i hope i saved you from the stress of going though it.
