Does running quick scans with NAV2008 cause some harm to the product? I don’t like having tracking cookies, so often after web browsing, I’ll run a quick scan to get rid of the tracking cookies.
You could run a scan every hour and it doesnt matter. But scanning to remove tracking cookies is silly. Just use CCleaner. Cookies, history and temp files are gone in a click.
Thanks Boys
Or use Firefox. It has an option that will get rid of all your cookies at the end of each session.
Set it and forget it. Under Options\Advanced check off close after cleaning is done. That way there when your done browsing open up CCleaner and hit Run Cleaner. It will automaticlly close when done.
You can configure Norton to automatically remove tracking cookies.

With regard to C.Cleaner: Why do all this when Norton does the job for you? Not every User will want to do that no matter how many time you suggest this in the Forum.
And NY may be quite happy with their current Web Browser.
OMG do all what. CCleaner is the most popular tool out there. Try it. Why run a scan to remove cookies which will ltake about 10- 15 minutes. If all you want to do is remove cookies CCleaner does it in about 5 secs. I have used several other antiviruses. NOD32,Avira,Avast,Rising,KAV and I have never used any of them to get rid off cookies. CCleaner is an all around tool. Its great for erasing your tracks which no av can do.
Actually, When I run NAV2008 Quick Scan, it takes less than a minute
Techoutsider, how do you mean configure Norton to automatically remove tracking cookies? I have it set to detect tracking cookies and I have it set to ask me on all low risk items. Are you saying that there is a way to BLOCK tracking cookies?
And I know that Tracking cookies are relatively harmless, I just don't like them.

Tracking Cookies are Low-Risk so will be Removed; I think there might be an additonal Setting in the Options for Tracking Cookies in Norton 2008 Products, therefore, I would check your Settings.
yes I have it checked to detect tracking cookies, but I have low risk items to ask me about fixing/removing them.
NY1986 please stop worrying. Please listen and try CCleaner. All your problems will be gone.
Not really as worried as when I first joined here. Now I’m just trying to get smart like you boys. ![]()
