No matter what I clock on or how many instructions I'm trying to follow that are given on the Norton site, I can't get the Internet Security program to dwnload. On my order status also, it wasys :closed. So confused. Wish I could talk to a real person.
Hi Ppony,
Welcome to the Forum, and I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems downloading NIS.
Have you tried any of hese links for direct downloads?:
www.norton.com/nis11 (This is the NIS 2011 installation file. NIS 2011 is a fairly stable, mature product.)
www.norton.com/nis12 (This is the NIS 2012 installation file. NIS 2012 is only several weeks old, and it still has some issues to be resolved.)
My recommendation would be to try to download the NIS 2011 file and see if the installation is successful. If it is successfulk, then you can always upgrade to NIS 2012 whenever you want to.

Hi ppony,
Welcome to the Norton Community.
RichD has provided the links for NIS (Norton Internet Security). But I wanted to ask a few other questions which are important.
What security software do you have presently? Are you upgrading from a prior version of NIS or security software from another vendor? Please be specific about what you currently have and what version you have. Also what version of Windows and SP (service pack) do you have and is it 32 or 64 bit?
If you have security software from another vendor it will need to be uninstalled and run a removal tool from that vendor to ensure it is completely removed prior to attempting to install NIS. If you have any problems finding such a removal tool please let us know as we have links to most of the common ones.
If you have an earlier version of NIS or some other Norton security software, please let us know what it is before installing NIS 2011 or 2012.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.

Thanks for trying to help. As I see, it appears that those links are PC/WIndows apps. I'm on a Mac. I dont have any additional security on my computer as it's not bee so important in years past. This is the first time in 15 years I've felt I might have a problem and am trying to put something on. I jsut purchsed the app from the site. Just a few hours ago, so I'm jsut flustered not getting this to work.

HI ppony,
Unfortunately this is the NIS/NAV board for PC. I will ask the moderator to move your post to the MAC forum where they will be better able to assist you. A link will be left here so you know where to find your post.
I am sure you will get the assistance you need there.
Best wishes.

Thanks! There is just too much on the site. It's easy to get lost when links appear to be leading you when you think you want to go. :)

HI ppony,
Not to worry, we'll get you where you need to be to get the right help.
Best wishes.

Hello ppony.
The fastest and easiest way to get help from a real person is to contact Norton Support via chat on this link: http://www.norton.com/chat
They are able to help you with the download as there are no trial links for Mac products as it is for Windows.
