Frys Rebate Frustration and Norton has been of no help

Purchased Norton Security Premium from Frys Electronics last week that was advertised with a $20 rebate for previous Norton owners, (rebate #17-17013).

The frustration starts off bad and only gets worse.  To start with this $20 previous owner rebate is NOT listed on Nortons rebate website, so ok then I'll just print out the Frys rebate form and mail it in, not as easy as using their website but hey no huge problem. But now  is where the problem and a problem that Norton will not resolve really becomes an issue.

Norton requires proof of ownership of a previous Norton product which is no problem as I had purchased Norton360 previously but its how Norton wants me to prove that I owned Norton360. Norton states that I must submit either the original Norton CD or the first page from the Nortons user manual. Well as anyone knows Norton no longer provides CD's or user manuals in their retail box, all you get is a card with a Norton with a 25 digit product key printed on it.

I reached out to Norton through their rebate website chat link and all I got was a rude Norton rep who could not or refused to understand, no matter how many times I repeated, that I'm unable to mail in a CD or user manual because Norton no longer provides those items in their retail box.

So with no help from Norton and how to comply with THEIR rebate guidelines I reach out to Frys who easily understood the situation but could offer no solution other than to reach out to Norton. You know you're in a bad situation when Electronic Fry's provides better customer support than Norton.

So has anyone else ran into Norton requiring a CD or owners manual for a rebate when Norton no longer supplies those items in their retail boxed products?
