Hi, I recently bought Norton Internet Security 2011 and I'm enjoying it so far. I thought I'd offer some of my immediate reactions as a new user, by posting them here. If I've misunderstood anything you may be able to put me right, and I wonder if anyone else has any thoughts? The Firewall seems very "set-it-and-forget-it", infact there was no setting up and no "This program is attempting to access...Yes/No?" message interruptions. I became used to them with my previous firewall software, which had a lot more messages for the user's attention. My previous firewall told me in a little moving icon in the taskbar when data was incoming and outgoing (usefully colour-coded red and green) which was useful when I suspected that my internet connection had froze or was being slow. I miss that slightly.
Also, when doing a complete scan, is it me or is the progress bar not as useful as it could be? It doesn't give a clear indication of how much of the process is complete and how much there is to go, and instead just seems like an animated graphic, with the yellow gradient going from one end of the bar to the other again and again. Unless, being a new user, I have misunderstood something, I just wondered whether the progress bar is the best it could be?
The protection that Norton Internet Security 2011 provides seems absolutely stellar, and that's, of course, why I chose it. Well done, and keep up the good work.
