I'm trying to restore some files written to 4 DVD-Rs, using Ghost 9.0 (this was used to create them, I'm told) for my sister's computer following a hard drive replacement. She was able to get a good Ghost backup before (maybe not?) the drive replacement.
Anyway, I got a new copy of Ghost 9.0 from a reseller and when I try to restore some files I get: Invalid Drive Details. This Probably isn't a Ghost Image file.
Properties of this 1st file say it is a .gho file, as do the subsequent files.
I've copied the first DVD to hard disk and tried point to that, but get the same error.
I've tried the ghofixup.exe utility mentioned on the Symantec forum, but it doesn't seem to want to execute. When I run it (after unzipping), I see the Command window flash quickly by, but it doesn't seem to do anything.
Can anyone suggest anthing else to try? There are some "experts" who lead you to believe they have a solution for this, for monthly subscriptions, but I'm wary of giving them out a credit card or Paypal #.
Thanks in advance
