Gho and Ghs Imaging

Hi All,

 

I hope you can point me in the right direction, we have been using ghost 8.0 where we can image machines on ghostcast server. 

We have a new image created these are all in gho and ghs formart and i have now discovered ghost 14 doesnt support these formats.  When we try to to reimage machine it asks for a newer version of ghost.  As we will be creating images and imaging in gho and ghs format what would be the best purchase to continue imaging with this format and restoring.  Awaiting response

I used a Ghost (maybe 2003), which is about 1MB and only runs in DOS. That uses those file formats. I don't know where to get it (there are unofficial ways to found it..... but this forum is not for that :D).

I think you should contact (send a Personal Message to them - right side on the upper section with a mail icon -) a Symantec Employee at the forum (they are the red ones :D), and they can help you faster.

I am not sure at what point the file format changed, but you need to keep the older version's boot disk in order to restore the older ghost versions.

Ghost 8 is an older version of the Enterprise solution (Ghost 2003 used the same technology).  Since you're going to continue to use Ghostcasting and .GHO images, you might look into the latest Ghost Solution Suite.  You can find out more on the Enterprise forum at https://forums.symantec.com.
