Unfortunately, Windows Vista is not a supported platform for Norton Ghost 10. Other users of Norton Ghost 10 might be able to give you their experiences or workarounds for using this product on Windows Vista, but it has not been updated to support this operating system.

I understand your point.  I use Ghost 10 simply to clone the C: hard drive for disaster avoidance.  I use a floppy with Ghost to boot directly to DOS on the floppy and proceed from there.  This has saved me several times in the past on hard drive failures.

Since this entirely bypasses Vista, I was hoping the technique would still work on the new computer with an Intel Dual Core processor.

What do you think?

It certainly could work, but isn’t something Symantec endorses. Have you encountered any problems?

Yes, it works very simply.  I clone my C: drive onto an identical hdd in a removable tray; and then remove the tray and put it in a safe.  This has saved me twice on my 6 year old computer, once with a corrupted hdd and once with a failed hdd.  I just pop the clone in and away I go.  My real worry, however, is catching a virus where my present and future RAID won't protect my data.

Why doesn't Sysmantec endrose this type of use?  Can you recommend a software just for simple clonning.  My new computer will have RAID 5 to protect against most other problems.
