Ghost 12, C: restore AFTER shrinking drive, how to?

OK, I got into a position where I want to restore my C: drive from a Ghost 12 backup.

Problem is that since I made the backup I've shrunk the size of the drive.

Since it is C:, I have to boot the DVD to do the backup, OK, but all that I have are shown as INVALID!

This is Vista Home Premuim 64 bit if it matters.

How does one restore a drive that is the boot drive from a backup make when the partition was larger than it is now?

Is this possible?
