I understand there are 3 partitions: a normally invisible utility partition that must be copied first, the visible C:\ drive that goes 2nd, and a normally invisible restore partition that goes last.
Source drive is 40 MB and the target is 80 MB. Bios and XP both see the destination drive.
However in copying the first partion, the utility partition, it fails without stating any reason. I don't know if it matters but the utility partition is FAT32 and the destination at present is NTFS.
Surely this is a well understood process?
