I am attempting to setup backup(s) to allow using multiple removable media as the destination. I have 4 USB hard drives (P1, P2, P3 and P4). I have setup a backup to do a base backup each Friday and incremental backups on Saturday through Thursday, I have set the number of sets to be 1 so that new sets will overwrite old sets (I think). My intent is to swap out the removable media each Friday before the new base backup with the drives P1, P2, P3 and P4, in sequence, and transport the replaced drive offsite giving me 3 weeks of backups offsite.
Everything appears to work as I have backed up to P1 without issue, now when attempting to swap in P2, ghost complains about the destination being unavailable and then asks if I want to use the new device as a backup destination(?) if I agree ghost begins a new backup onto the new drive immediately, this is not what I need in this situation. I would like it to be able to wait till scheduled, begin the new base set (overwriting the previous if it exists) and continue to store incrementals until I replace it with the next device on the next Friday.
Is this possible to accomplish with Ghost? If so, how would I go about setting this up.
