Installing larger hdd sata. Used drive copy option, drive copied ( Vista ). removed old drive, booted to new drive. It booted but no desktop only curser arrow for mouse and light blue background. Tried to go to safe mode same thing but black screen for safe mode. Rebooted several times with same results. Checked all the options needed. I have tried it several times same thing with same results.  This mother board does not have raid so can’t go that way.

A Guru posted in this forum that the Ghost instructions were inadequate. Have you tried after the "copy" to set the drive up as say a "D" drive, then shutdown, switch drives and reboot. The full details are in a posting "Advisory...."; try search

I have heard this works, but I have not tried it.  Insert your original Vista cd and let the computer fix the boot record on the new drive.  I saw a similar thread on the board about a week ago or so and they said it was due to a slight difference in the way vista writes things compared to ghost.  I don’t run vista, so this is just a thought.  You might do a search on the board for some more info on this one.
