I've checked everything that I could think of and my final solution was, since this package did not cost me anything (after the rebate), was to uninstall the package and I'm now using the Seagate FreeAgent product that came with a USB Drive, Works fine and I no longer have to worry about the Ghost failing. I originally purchased Ghost based on reviews of earlier versions, but based on this experience, I'll no longer even think about using anything from Norton/Symatec again.

Thanks

Ghost 14.0 has failed to complete any Folder/File backups on my D: Drive (or any subfolders). I have completed a Recovery Disk backup of the C: Drive. (One only, have not attempted to update this yet) The error I'm getting is: -Error E4BC0012: An interaction with the catalog's database layer failed unexpectedly: sqlite3_step--5: database is locked.

I have gone to "More Help on the Web" and completed the procedure for this error - stop the service, delete the file Catalog.dat, restart the service and start a new (completely new) Folder/File backup - it runs for a time, the latest time it did 777 MBytes, then failed with the same error. I have attempted total of 4 backups with this, all of which fail with the same error.

System is Core Duo Pentium, Vista Ultimate, 4 GByte memory, C: Drive is SATA 500, D: Drive is SATA 250

I had these 2 drives set up originally as Raid 1, but due to some problems I was having, I broke the raid out and using stand-alone drives now.

Have you run a chkdsk /r on your drives?  Fair word of warning, this will take a long time as it will check for bad sectors.  What were the results of the chkdsk?
