Ghost 14 and Vista 64 Home Premium -- Optical and USB drives unusable

After I installed Ghost 14 and ran Live Update, I ran a file and folder backup to my optical drive using DVD's.

It took 12 hours to back up about 22 Gigs. Roxio could do it in 3 including the verify.

Another problem is with my optical drive not working with Ghost installed. I can see it and

try to access it but Vista hangs when trying to actually read it. Same with the USB ports. I have to

reboot. And I still can't use the drive.

I have to uninstall Ghost using the removal tool and everything works as before Ghost. I've done this

twice so I know it's Ghost. With no Ghost, no problems.

This is unacceptable as I use my optical drive between backups and for backups. There is no way I should

have to reinstall this beast every time I want to use it AND expect to wait 12 hours for a 22 gig backup.

What the heck is going on?

I've used Norton Enterprise products before. The way Ghost 14 behaves and judging by the other problems I've

read about here, I just can't believe it. This is not the Norton or Symantec I remember from my IT career.

I run a Dell XPS 430, Vista 64 Home Premium SP2, Intel Core 2 Quad 8200 2.3 GHz with 6 GB RAM.

The optical drive is an Optiarc CD/DVD+RW combo model AD-7200S. This system is 3 months old with updated HW drivers.
