Which operating system and service pack are you running? Are you running a multiboot system? Any RAID? Please provide any details of your system setup so we can better understand the problem. Also, please provide details as to the settings you chose for the backup. This information may be critical to understanding the problem clearly. Thanks!
windows xp pro (SP3) running under bootcamp. no RAID
as for backup settings ive tried every combintation i can think off. the most recent one that failed again last night was to remove all my backups, run the wizard and accept the default settings for backing up My Computer (C Drive) and My Documents (D Drive). My Computer backup worked fine, My Documents stalled at around 84%.
Can you suggest any backup type/settings that would work?
thanks
In your original post, you mention that “all subsequent backups…”; does this mean that your are creating a Recovery Point Set (incremental images) of your source drive, and saving it to the 1 TB destination? What are the settings you are using? How are your disks setup? You mention a C: & D: drive; are they 2 different physical disks? I apologize, but please give me the exact steps you use to create the backup. Thanks!
C and D are seperate physical drives. As per my most recent post, i have used the default settings from the wizard that you can run when you have no backups set up. it creates a my computer (C drive) backup, then a My documents (in my case D:\My Documents) backup. I imagine you are aware of the default settings?
cheers
I am, thanks. I’ve sent you an email regarding the gathering of logs for our team to research this issue further. Please reply with the logs as soon as possible. Thanks!
Hey Tony. thanks for coming back to me. I have decided to ditch Ghost for another solution. Doing so gave me instant success, far faster backups, and solved a number of other odd bugs i would get when rebooting my machine. Likewise bootup times are now significantly faster.
thanks for your assistance, too late in this instance
cheers
