I want to upgrade my HD to a larger one, and transfer my OS and all files to the new drive. I hooked up the new, blank drive and set it up as a basic disk and did a quick format. Windows recognized the drive as a new basic disk "J."
I then went into Ghost and clicked on "Copy My Drive." I made sure I copied the OS, the MBR and all files to the new drive. I made sure that the "J" drive would be the active drive. All copied cleanly, and looking in Windows Explorer, I see on the J: drive all the files that was on my C: drive. I unplug my C: drive and move my J: drive into its place, and hook it up.
When I try and boot, windows trys to load, giving me the username and password screen I had on the C: drive (it had a username but no password, so I just click OK and it would load). When I click OK, it starts to load, I get the Windows start music, and then it immediately goes into logoff and I get the Windows shutdown music. Endless loop...will not load Windows. I restart the machine, same thing.
Please help!
Thanks,
