Just referenced this thread as it gives my hardware/OS info.
I have a Plextor PX-712a CD/DVD burner that works just fine with Nero, CloneDVD2, and other burning programs. When trying to use Ghost 14 downloaded trial version to use "Tools" ==> "Copy Recovery Point"==>Choose Recovery Point Source==>"Destination Location" gives a box titled "Folder" and "Browse" button on right.
If I browse to my Plextor Drive G: and choose "OK" it puts G:\ in the folder box. However, when I then click "Next" to proceed, I get this error:
-G:\ is a read-only location and is not a valid destination.
--Error EC8F1C42: G:\ is a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive. This is not a valid destination.
Edit: It does not matter if I put a blank Taiyo Yuden DVD-R or Sony CDR new, blank disk in the drive before opening Ghost. Same error. I have no problem using this drive to burn to these media with Nero or a number of other optical writing programs. My Plextor has the latest 1.09 version firmware.
